Applications

Laser Metal Deposition

The TetraPORT metal deposition system uses a laser to melt metal powder or wire to a substrate.

Applications for this additive process include:
  • Surface restoration on damaged parts
  • Repair or fabrication of components
  • Surface coating
  • Fabrication of dissimilar materials

Laser Welding

The TetraPORT's laser provides a concentrated heat source resulting in small heat-affected zones with narrow, deep welds and faster weld rates. The non-contact welding process is capable of reaching inaccessible locations with shorter cycles and low distortion. This opens up many different configurations and innovative joint designs which were previously unachievable with conventional welding.

While other conventional methods require finishing or re-working on the weld beads, laser welding does not require these operations thus reducing operating costs.

Laser Heat Treating / Laser Hardening

Laser heat treating - laser hardening The TetraPORT system can be configured for heat treating applications. By rapidly heating the surface of a substrate and then allowing it to cool, the hardness of the area is changed.
