Hi Everybody!

Just thought that I would write an update after Katrina and let you know I'm still alive and kicking. Ha Ha.

My house was not damaged very much particularly considering the thousands of homeless here still. My roof had to be replaced and french doors blown into the house and things like that. Thank goodness no flood water in my home. My children came through the hurricane unscathed, so I am once more blessed. Several of my friends in Metairie had 6 feet of water in their homes for months and some of them came back to find that their homes were "no longer there" at all. So I am very fortunate.

Since my husband passed away in 2001 I have been learning things I never knew before, like you have to put the garbage "out" and gasoline "in" the car to go anywhere, and whoops! turn the water off in the bathroom if anything keeps running too long. Ha Ha! I live alone now (for the first time in my life) with my little ShithZu "Samy".

I'm so glad that I was fortunate enough to have had the privilege of growing up in Gulfport with such wonderful friends all my life there! This created a firm foundation for me which has really helped me to survive these ups, downs and as for Katrina, tragedies of life.

I retired from government service as a legal technician at the U.S. Attorney's Office in New Orleans in 2003, and was getting more quality time with my 10 year old granddaughter "Grace" until Katrina. My daughter, Christine, graduated from Loyola University here in New Orleans and got a BA in Microbiology. She has now taken a job with Home Land Security as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officer carrying guns and wears bullet proof vest and 35 Lbs. of other equipment. She stands 5'2", weighs 105 Lbs. Well, just glad she FINALLY went to work even if it is in another direction that what I expected. Ha Ha again! My other daughter lives in New York and is a Real Estate Agent. So very proud of both of them.

I can't wait for the next reunion to see all of your dear faces again. Please keep in touch with me, each and everyone of you are dear to me. My e-mail address if anyone wants to contact me is cadler2002@yahoo.com and my home telephone is (504) 341-9990, home address is 2205 Woodmere Blvd., Harvey, La. 70058.

I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

I just came back from the 50's through 1962 class reunion get-together on October 4, 2003, and was so thrilled to see all that came. I have been working for the federal government for the last 20 years and will retire the end of this month from the U.S. Attorney's Office. Really looking forward to some leisure time again. I am now a widow for the last 2 years so my friends have become even more dear to me now and would love to hear from you anytime. I have two daughters and two grand daughters. I have been living in Louisiana for the last 15 years and enjoying all that goes with the fun of being in the City that Care Forgot.
