After my sophomore year at GHS, I went to Heidelberg, Germany, because that was my father's next military assignment. Following graduation, I went to the University of Shippensburg in Pennsylvania and received a BS degree in secondary education. I got my Masters in Education from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, and later studied at the Sorbonne in Paris for my Masters in French. I have been teaching high school French and English for 27 years, and plan to retire next year. I had planned to retire after 25 years of teaching, but I am still having fun. Some of my students and I just returned from Paris and the Burgandy region of France, where we are involved in a student exchange program.
My daughter, Dee, is Director of Accounting and Human Resources at USM in Long Beach. She and her husband Ron have two precious daughters - Caroline is 6 years old and Ashley is 8 months. After I retire I can spend more time with the girls.
My husband is a Designer Supervisor at Ingalls. We love to travel, especially to French-speaking locations. We are members of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. We count our blessings.
On graduation night at Heidelberg American High School, we military brats took it for granted that we would never see each other again, and would never have a class reunion. What a joy it was to discover 10 years ago that I was on the GHS class of '61 list! We really can come home again! I enjoyed the last reunion immensely and am looking forward to seeing everyone again.
