Walter and I moved to the Houston area in 1970 and have been here ever since. Walter had his own company and I taught school for thirty-eight years. Walter lost his eyesight in 1997 and retired from his company. I retired in 2004 and am loving it!!

Most of my time is spent with family and friends. I continue to enjoy several hobbies and travel each year with a group of nine other ladies. We've been traveling together for about fifteen years.

Our children live about twenty minutes away and have blessed us with six wonderful grandchildren. Unfortunately, Walter has only seen Stephanie's two oldest girls. Stephanie has two girls; Sara-Ashleigh and Alyssah, and two boys; Anthony and Andrew. Trent has one of each; Anna and Aaron. I call them my six-pack of A's since all their names start with the letter "A". We often thought about moving back to Gulfport, but we just can't imagine being away from our children and grandchildren!

Over the years Walter and I did quite a bit of traveling, but our travels have slowed down because of Walter's blindness (his total blindness was caused by a stroke to the eyes as a complication of malignant hypertension). We did spend part of the summer in the state of Washington and Canada, and Walter was able to enjoy the trip to a point.

Walter, especially, appreciated all of you who visited with him at the reunion, he's always enjoyed being at our reunions even if he DID graduate from Murrah High School in Jackson!!

I enjoyed every part of the reunion. And to Tim and Sidney, thanks for the very special memorial service.

I hope more of us can be together at the next reunion, and thanks to all who played a part in the planning. My thoughts are with all of you who suffered damage (and are still suffering) from "Katrina".

Hope to see everyone at the next big reunion, our "golden" reunion. WOW!!
