Entry from August 5, 2008:
Not a lot of different "stuff" going on with me except I am FINALLY going to be a "Nana".  I am so excited!  My son, Hampton, and his wife, Lindsey, are expecting a baby in February, 2009.  Hampton has been called to Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS, where he is Student and Family Pastor...there since March, 2007.  Lindsey finished college at Univ. of South Alabama and is teaching 4th grade at West Lincoln in Brookhaven (going into her second year now).  They are thriving in Brookhaven, very involved in soooo many things there.  I am so proud of them!Just hate having them 2 1/2 hours away, but God knows better than I do what is best for them.

I am still loving being back on the Coast.......hurricanes and all! Guess I can say that since I had virtually no damage to my apartment and furnishings. My heart goes out to those who lost all or most of their "stuff". I have prayed many times for those I knew who lost so much. This is still home to me and I don't think I will ever move away again.

Just updating a few things......my son, Hampton, had been called to Four Mile Creed Baptist Church in Moss Point (actually, Escatawpa), MS, back in 2002 where he is Minister of Youth and Music. He is now married to a precious girl (Lindsey) he met while at First Baptist Church in Bayou La Batre, AL (his previous church). They married on Oct. 2, 2004 (their picture is in the Mississippi Magazine Wedding Registry for 2006). Lindsey is finishing at Univ. South Alabama in May 2007, so no grandchildren yet! She will be an elementary education major. I am so happy to have them close to where I am and get to worship with them every Sunday and have lunch afterwards.

Not much else has changed......hope everyone had gotten a letter (or maybe more than one) about our upcoming 45th reunion (Sat. night of Labor Day weekend) and the 1950s-'61 combined reunion that is on Friday night of Labor Day weekend. I look forward to seeing all of you there!

Previous write up:
Am a widow and just moved back to coast after 28 years in Jackson, MS....missed "home".
Have one (wonderful) son, Hampton, who is Minister of Music and Children at First Bapt. Church in Bayou La Batre, AL (near Mobile). God blessed me more than I deserve by giving me Hampton. He is my only child and I thought I'd never have one (I was 34 when he was born!).

Have worked in Jackson, MS as secretary/receptionist/administrative assisant at various offices. I am happy to be back on the Coast. There is just something about the beach, the water and the sound of seagulls that is music to my ears!

Had a wonderful time at the reunion - wish everyone could've been here.
Hats off to Don Johnson and his "crew" for the great job they did taking pictures, making name tags, etc.
