Entry from July 24, 2008
I have a studio on Ile St. Louis, the small island behind Notre Dame. I write here. My wife, a Lieutenant Colonel, is Chief of Public Affairs for the Army in Kaiserslautern, Germany where our home is for the next two-and-half-years. She and my son Harrison and I travel back and forth on the wonderful European train system (230+ kph!). My daughter, Leah, was married in Ohio on July 4th. She is a chef. I am so sorry to hear about Becky's passing. I remember her as such a nice person in high school.

Hello, Everyone, I'm working here in Paris most of the time. I'm doing some articles and working on a "policier roman" - (literally, a police novel) that takes place on the island. You can actually Google Earth my address and see my apartment on the top floor - those are my three windows overlooking the courtyard! My wife, Tamara, a U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and my son, Harrison, a junior in college, visit me often. It is wonderful here but the Euro/dollar exchange rate is murder. Last night we ate out and to drink we shared a large Coke. It was 12 Euros, which, at yesterday's rate, cost $18.92. I hope everyone is well and happy. Feel free to contact me to say hello. I recently got an email from a girl friend I knew at Biloxi High School 49 years ago!

Hello, Everyone, I'm married to Tamara Knight. We have a son, Harrison, 17, a daughter, Leah, 24 and extended family members Metro, Koska, Lurk, Gray Baby and My Chemical Cat. Tamara is a U.S. Army Major (about to be a Lieutenant Colonel). She is stationed at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers, Europe)where she is a Public Affairs Officer. She completed 20 years in April but she will do another four years.

We've lived in Central America (The Panama Canal Zone), South Korea (Seoul), Europe, (Germany) and we're now back in Europe (Belgium). I write for magazines and newspapers; presently I'm completing a novel about Beat personalities Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady.

For fun I travel with my son everywhere for great rock concerts (We recently saw [at separate concerts in Brussels]The White Stripes, Bob Dylan, George Thorogood and The Violent Femmes, and in Paris, The Eels. I'll pencil-in our 50th reunion in 2011. Who's out there? Best, Hayden
