Sheilah Parker Morton
July 26, 1943 to November 9, 1974

The funeral service for Mrs. Sheilah Faith Parker Morton, 31, who died Saturday, will be held this afternoon at 3 o’clock at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Gulfport.

The Rev. Dr. E. N. Wilkinson, Mississippi City Baptist Church, the Rev. Jimmy Futrell, Grace Memorial Baptist Church Gulfport, and the Rev. Kenneth Harrison, Southside Baptist Church, Dothan, Ala., will officiate.  Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens.

Mrs. Morton, wife of Larry Morton, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday at her residence, 216 Murphy St., Gulfport, following a lengthy illness.

Born July 26, 1943, in Big Creek, Miss., she resided in Gulfport, graduating in 1961 from Gulfport High School.  She moved to Dothan, Ala., where he resided for several years prior to returning to the Coast.

Mrs. Morton was a Baptist and a member of the Young Women’s Club of Gulfport.  She served as a room mother and was active in the Parent-Teacher Association.  In Dothan, she was secretary of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 76, and was also a Girl Scout Troop leader and Brownie leader.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Parker; one son, Kenny Morton; two daughters, Pamela Faith and Angela Irene Morton; two brothers, Wayne Parker all of Gulfport, and Card D. Parker, Lansing, Kan.; paternal grandfather, O. Y. Parker, Calhoun City, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Hazel Faust Delaney, Gulfport.
