David B. Rogers
November 22, 1952 to August 29, 1975

The funeral for David B. Rogers, 32, Gulfport, an employee of Hancock Bank who was killed Friday night at his home in Handsboro when struck by lightning, will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Gulfport.

The Rev. R. Stewart Smith, pastor, will offices, assisted by the Rev. Dr. R. L. Summers, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

The family prefers memorial donations to the Methodist Children’s Home.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon at the church from 3 p.m. until funeral time.

Mr. Rogers, who was employed in the installment lending department of the bank, had been employed previously at Russell Finance Co. for 13 years.  He resided at 1444 Tally-Ho Circle.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Rogers, Gulfport, born on Nov. 22, 1941, in Walterboro, S.C.  He was married to the former Linda June Cothern of Gulfport.

A graduate of Gulfport High School, Mr. Rogers had served with the U. S. Army.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Gulfport Elks Club.

In addition to his widow and his parents, he is survived by two children, Chrystal Ann Rogers and Ty Benson Rogers, Gulfport, and one sister, Mrs. Rita Ann Burtness, Minneapolis, Minn.
