Earnest Webster

April 26, 1942 – November 11, 1999

A graveside service will be at noon Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, in Willamette National Cemetery for Earnest Earl Webster, who died Nov. 11 at age 57.

Mr. Webster was born April 26, 1942, in Houlka, Miss.  He moved to Oregon as a teen-ager and graduated from Roseburg High School.  A career military veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years and the U. S. Air Force for four years until retiring in 1982.  He had lived in Portland since 1982.  He worked for the Portland Bureau of Parks and Recreation for about nine years, retiring in the mid-1990s.  He married Judy L. Hendren in 1976.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Tamara Ensley and Debbie Phelps, both of Lewiston, Idaho; son, Kenneth R. of Portland; mother, Vera A. of Pontotoc, Miss.; brother, Chester B. of Astoria; sisters, Linda Van Cleave of Eugene, Debbie Trotter of Roseburg and Sherry Rutledge of Winston; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances to the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys For Tots programs, Portland Rescue Mission or a favorite charity.  Arrangements are by Skyline Funeral Home.
