Dear Classmate:

 

Thank you for responding to our letter regarding plans being made for our 45th GHS class reunion, September 1-3, 2006.  So far, 75 classmates have indicated they plan to attend.  If you have not mailed your reply, it is not too late. 

 

We are still trying to locate some of our classmates (click on the link below for the list). Please let us know if you have a current address of anyone on the list.

Friday, September 1

Join dance with GHS Classes 1950 - 61 8:00PM - midnight

Music by “The Nite Riders”

Orange Grove Community Center

13472 Highway 49, Lyman

Casual dress - bring your own beverages (ice, cups, soft drinks provided)

Pizza at 10:00PM

 

Saturday, September 2

10:00AM Memorial service to honor deceased classmates

Noon - Ladies Luncheon   -   Location to be announced

Afternoon - Men’s Activities   -   Golf, Tennis

7:00PM - 10:00 PM - Cocktail buffet

Bayou Bluff Tennis Club

1553 W. Taylor Road, Gulfport   (Will send map)

Casual dress - Beer, wine, soft drinks will be provided

Liquor will be available - cash bar

 

We are planning to schedule a time to memorialize our deceased classmates.  More information will follow.  A Sunday afternoon activity will be planned if we can locate a site.

 

A ‘block of rooms” has been reserved in the name of Gulfport 50's Class Reunion at the Palace Casino Resort for the nights of September 1, 2, and 3 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday).  To make reservations call the Gulf Coast Hotel Reservations Company toll free at 1-888-388-1006.  Mention Gulfport 50's Class Reunion for the special rate of $149.00 per night for Friday and Saturday (it’s labor Day weekend) and $99.00 for Sunday night.  This offer is only good until May 1st, so make your reservation EARLY!!  The hotel rooms will be released to the public on May 2nd.  There is a shortage of rooms due to adjusters, workers, FEMA.  Possibly in the summer more rooms will become available.

 

The costs for this fun-filled weekend will be $75.00 per person ($150.00 per couple).  Make check payable to GHS Class of ‘61, due by June 30th.  If you are unable to attend the Friday night event, you may deduct $15.00 per person from the total.  Please note that if you do not pay for the Friday night event and you do come, the cost at the door will be $20.00 per person.

 

If the cost presents a financial hardship and will prevent you from attending, please let us know and we will make arrangements for you to attend.

 

We will send a schedule of events and maps in a later mailing.  We are looking forward to renewing friendships.
