The role of a Software Developer with ALSPI develops, creates and modifies general computer applications software or specialized programs. Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions. Plans, directs and coordinates all activities related to writing, maintaining and deploying software programs. Assist in daily operations of IT and solves technical problems that may arise.

IT Software Developer Technical Experience:

• Experience with Epicor / Kinetic or other ERP systems
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with SSRS Reporting
• Experience with C# programming

IT Software Developer Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Delivers reports and proposals to upper management.
• Analyzes user needs and software requirements. Determines feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Confers with others to design systems and obtain project information on limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Coordinates software system installation.
• Designs, develops and modifies software systems.
• Develops and guides software system testing and validation procedures. Develops relationships with internal customers to interpret software requirements.
• Modifies existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, to improve performance or accommodate new requirements.
• Stores, retrieves and manipulates data to accomplish organizational goals.
• Trains users to use new or modified software.
• Answers questions from computer users for all software.

IT Software Developer Qualifications:

• Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be familiar with a variety of programming languages, codes and processes. Must possess exceptional troubleshooting skills and be able to assess quickly any complex programming applications.
• Must keep up with technology and be up to date with the latest development software.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment and meeting quality standards for services.
• Ability to systematically troubleshoot complex problems.
• Ability to analyze needs and product requirements to create a design.
• Ability to write computer programs for various purposes.

IT Software Developer Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related principal or 6 years of experience working with information systems, process improvement, project management or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training. Working in a manufacturing environment with ERP experience is needed; Epicor expertise STRONGLY preferred.
